“Not What I was Expecting in the Best Way Possible”
When I first opened the book, I thought I was going into a fictional piece about dystopian Earth. And while the author touches base on that idea, the ride quickly becomes wild with a much bigger, meatier plot. What happens when people try to take shortcuts to fix humanity’s mistakes? Gargantuan, horrific deep sea horrors.

“The Action Never Lets Up”
I was drawn in right off by the action of the opening scene: both the setup for it and the actual execution. I especially enjoyed the little details of combat he includes: “He swiveled his head to wipe the sweat from his eyes, which distracted him momentarily from his target…” and “Several wore white mesh sniper veils to protect their faces from the harsh sun and windswept sand.”
